The Sweetness of Sunday

Our Sundays are pretty relaxed ~ always have been…. .. after the farmer puts in another lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ng work week, he truly needs this day for rest. We usually start our day with an amazing time of worship in the house of the Lord with our friends and then spend a fairly quiet afternoon together. There are times when we’ll enjoy a bite to eat at a restaurant, but mostly we come home to a simple lunch. We’ll then spend the afternoon doing a variety of activities from walking the dog, watching a movie or reading while sitting on the front porch. Pretty relaxed, huh?

Then there are times when our daughter and her husband invite us over for lunch and to spend an afternoon together.

Today was one such day. Arriving to their house we were greeted with ice cold beverages ~ mine, a cherry-key-lime palm bay and for the farmer he enjoyed a nice cold beer. We were then treated to a most delicious lunch with BBQ’d turkey kabobs, coleslaw salad and grilled veggies. Oh. My. Goodness. Lunch was super delicious and our conversation always enlightening. Our afternoon quickly sped by as we enjoyed the beautiful weather with a walk through McNaughton trail and to no surprise to any of us, we ended up at DQ to enjoy an ice cream treat.

Today was perfect, it blended all my favourite things to do; dinner out, going for a walk, being outside with the beautiful weather and probably my very-most favourite ~ was time spent with family. As we headed for home, I thanked our lovely hostess for a perfect day!
How about you? What’s your perfect day?

Blessings
