Puppy Love

Our puppy 'Sasha' is 6 months old today. She was born on October 23rd and joined our family almost 2 months later. It's hard to imagine life without this little bundle of fir. With her outgoing and loving personalilty she has worked her way into the hearts of our whole family making her a wonderful addition.

It's nothing uncommon to see Sasha sitting with either of 'her' boys watching them play their X-box games, resting on the couch with Daddy, playing outside with her big sister 'Dolly', cuddling with Krystle when she is home and of course learning to love walks as much as I do.

aahhh the love of a puppy...

Juggling

Today, according to the calendar is 'Administrative Professionals Day'. I work at the Zurich Mennonite Church in the office. I wouldn't go so far to say that I am professional, but I am definitely gifted with administrative abilities. Someone once told me "if you find a job you love, you never have to go to 'work' again."

Well that's how I feel. I love, love going into work. Since I am part-time my hours are: Monday 9-1, Tuesday 9-2:30, Wednesday 9-3:30, Thursday 9-2:30 & Friday 9-2:30, perfect I know.
It helps me to keep a good balance/juggling of home & office and still allows time for reading, walking, my ladies group w.h.a.t. & jazzercise.

I also work with some great guys, Phil, Tim, Tom & Jamie - you guys are awesome - in a great atmosphere with people who value who I am and definitely appreciate what I do.

One of the 'perks' is that the 1st Friday of each month the South Huron Ministerial Secretaries gather for lunch at Eddington's. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to connect with others who are in the same position. I've gathered a wealth of information from these ladies who've been there.
Thank you ladies for your willingness to share how you've had to deal with different/difficult situations.

Of course it's not always sunshine & rainbows, there are days that are frustrating and sometimes dealing with people can be emotionally draining, but overall, I love my job: the good, the bad, the juggling.

I cannot imagine being anywhere else.

Being busy

My cousin & good friend Sandra has been blogging about a variety of awesome things and making a point of posting 30 entries in 30 days. She had missed a day and I commented to her how much I missed it as I would check her blog daily to see what the next awesome thing would be. She told me she had been really busy and so I said it can be an awesome thing to be busy too and believe or not one of her posts was on being busy.

I too like to be busy..... I enjoy my w.h.a.t (women's hearts always together) group, my jazzercise class, my work, but I also like quiet time where I can sit and read for hours on end or take my dogs for long walks.

Today I was quite busy, after returning home from Jazzercise, I started cleaning the house and doing laundry. These have become the norm for Saturdays on the farm. Thankfully it was nice outside that I was able to hang the laundry on the wash line --nothing beats fresh smelling laundry. especially those stinky barn clothes

I had also decided that I wanted to do some baking, so I made this bunny cake:

and Craisin Muffins:

the recipe originally called for blueberries but since I did not have any, I adapted it. mhmm quite tasty
I needed to quick snap a picture because they didn't last very long.

As I'm showing the cake to Kyle he wanted to know if he could have a piece right away, after telling him no he decided to do this:

from this angle it looks like he's really biting into it.

Amazed

This past Sunday during the church service we were blessed to have the song Amazing Grace played on the violin by two young girls from the congregation. I was moved to tears. I love that song.

Il Divo - Amazing Grace / RUS from ILDIVORUS on Vimeo.

After watching this powerful video and hearing those words sung I'm reminded again that I too was a wretch, I was lost & blind and it's only because "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16, that I am now a child of His.

As I focus on Jesus' last week on earth, I'm reminded again of the sacrifice it took to save a wretch like me.

Can you imagine what it will be like to spend eternity with the ONE who created you?

Last Hurrah!

Ok... seriously, what kind of weather is this for April.

Waking up this morning, hearing the wind blow, I figured something was happening outside, but trying to look out my window proved to be quite difficult as it happpened to be full of snow. I was so disappointed, I thought for sure spring was on it's way..... I am tried of winter. It seems to have lasted forever.

One of my favourite passages from the Bible helps me to remember that this is not forever.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

So I'm hoping that this is winter's last hurrah.
